Some makers keep to themselves. Buzz is more the type to share the table — here are a few he's glad to introduce.
John works in spoons, spatulas, and walking sticks — all carved from wood he comes across. Salvaged limbs, fallen branches, scraps with a story.
No two pieces are quite alike. The wood decides the shape; John just finds the spoon that's already in there.
Stop by his table at the next show, or look for him at Buzz's booth.

Chuck Mallett lives down the street from the shop and turns wood on a lathe — bowls, vessels, the occasional vase, with live edges left intact where the bark wants to stay.
He works in a range of woods, from Oregon myrtle and mesquite to whatever interesting log finds its way to Austin. Each piece keeps something of the tree it came from.
